PBIS

What is PBIS: PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is an initiative that aims to build academic success by creating a positive learning environment. The program helps the learning community to emphasize positive actions and successes wherever they are found. By acknowledging and rewarding positive behavior, PBIS aims to foster a fun, safe, and encouraging environment in which all can succeed. For more information about PBIS at Jones Middle, check out our Prezi Link.

School Matrix: Jones Middle School has created a matrix of expectations that apply to both teachers and students. Jones expects all students and staff to exhibit positivity, respect, inspiration, dependability, and excellence. The following school matrix provides concrete examples of how each of those characteristics can be demonstrated within various environments. Check out the school matrix here

Incentives: Part of PBIS is acknowledging those who exhibit characteristics seen in the school matrix. Just as there are academic expectations and rewards, PBIS aims to provide behavioral expectations and rewards. To take a look at some of the incentives offered at Jones this year, check out our incentives list here
