Dr. Holland Wins Counselor Advocate of the Year Award!
Dr. Holland recently received Gwinnett County’s Mary Joe Hannaford Award, previously named Counselor Advocate of the Year Award, at this year’s 2009 Counselor Recognition Ceremony. The award is given every year to a principal who goes above and beyond in advocacy for his school counselors and their counseling program. Dr. Holland is a very deserving winner, as he is our number one advocate which is demonstrated by his overwhelming support of our counseling program and students.
Mary Joe Hannaford was a nationally renowned counselor, educator, and supervisor. In honor of her service to Gwinnett County Public Schools and to the counseling field, and in recognition of her commitment to counseling advocacy, the Gwinnett County Public Schools Advocate of the Year Award has been renamed in her honor.
